This is an intensive and innovative programme designed to improve the Sustainability, Fundraising Capabilities and Leadership of BAMER charities and social enterprises.
Following the very successful Avocado pilot project from September 2016 – August 2018, we are pleased to announce the launch of the AVOCADO+ Accelerator programme. This programme supports Black, Asian, Multi-Ethnic and Refugee (BAMER) groups to become more financially sustainable. The pilot project and overwhelming evidence demonstrate that small BAMER groups benefit from intense capacity building support if they are to maximise their potential. They also require relevant training and support in areas such as governance, finance and leadership, to maximise their fundraising efforts. This programme helps them to move on to the next stage in their development, equipping them with the tools and confidence they need to survive and thrive.
Qualifying groups receive intensive capacity building and consultancy support which enables them to achieve sustainable growth and to successfully raise funds for their work. Carried out by consultants, it offers a mix of training, governance, finance, coaching and income diversification interventions. By the end of the programme, we expect groups to have increased their effectiveness, their impact on beneficiaries and their fundraising success.

The next AVOCADO+ academic year will run from October 2020 – September 2021. Applications will open in Summer 2020 and invitations will be sent to qualifying applicants on a first come, first served basis.
