Delivering operational excellence and funding success with Black, Asian, Multi Ethnic and Refugee (BAMER) charities and social enterprises
October 2018 – September 2020
This is an intensive and innovative programme that will improve the Sustainability, Fundraising Capabilities and Leadership of BAMER charities and social enterprises.
Following the very successful Avocado pilot project (funded by the Tudor Trust) from September 2016 – August 2018, we are pleased to announce the launch of the AVOCADO+ Accelerator programme to support Black, Asian, Multi-Ethnic and Refugee (BAMER) groups to become more financially sustainable. The Avocado pilot project demonstrated that small BAMER groups benefit from intense capacity building support if they are to maximise their potential. Groups require additional training and support in areas such as governance, finance and leadership to maximise their fundraising efforts. This programme will help them move on to the next stage in their development, equipping them with the tools and confidence they need to survive and thrive.
The AVOCADO+ project is a collaboration between MONEY4YOUTH™, Race on the Agenda (ROTA) and Black Fundraisers UK (BF-UK).
The programme will be launched on November 16th at Resource for London, 356 Holloway Road, N7 6PA from 5-7pm. Applications will open on the day and twenty places will be available for BAMER organisations to be admitted on to the one year intensive programme.
Qualifying groups will be given intensive capacity building and consultancy support which would enable them to achieve sustainable growth and to successfully raise funds for their work. Carried out by consultants, this offers a mix of training, governance, finance, coaching and income diversification interventions. By the end of the programme, we expect groups to have increased their effectiveness, their impact on beneficiaries and their fundraising success.
